How I stay productive with an AI meeting assistant

I feel like I can safely say: no one looks forward to meetings. There’s just something about the environment and the endless slide decks that makes it draining and hard to stay focused. And there was the problem. I needed a purpose to be there, and I needed help staying on top of everything that was said. Rather than wrestle with to-do lists and scattered notes, I wanted to find a tool that was designed and built specifically for meetings. I needed…an AI meeting assistant. Feel like you’re in the same boat as I was? Want to change that? Read on, and you’ll be equipped with a selection of tools that’ll help you get back to the helm.

My smart assistant for notes, docs, and ideas Eney is by far the best AI meeting assistant I’ve ever used. The second I need to request anything, like create an event in my calendar app, create a reminder, or even transcribe and summarize a conference call, Eney gets it done right away.

Try this prompt: “Go through today’s meeting notes and create a quick checklist by priority.”

Rather than having to write a to-do note of items after the call, I can hand over the tasks in real time to my assistant. The tool features an entire library of built-in skills for a variety of use cases, so I also don’t have to constantly search for separate apps to meet all my needs. Eney currently has a waitlist available. If you’re looking for inspiration, the Eney Handbook will outline a bunch of prompts worth trying. Transcribing my meetings in real time While Eney can transcribe my meetings after they’re recorded, sometimes I need a tool to do so on the fly. Especially if it’s a meeting that involves a lot of technical jargon or a lot of information to take in, I need more immediacy. MurmurType has become my preferred app to help out.

While the interface is simple enough, I chose to create my own shortcut key to make the process even faster. I can start recording, copy my transcription, and then paste it wherever I want using a couple of keys. If I have clients who want the transcription but feel more comfortable in another native language, I can translate the results into 19 different languages.

Creating actionable next steps with my intelligent meeting AI assistant But transcription isn’t enough. I need to know what to do with that newfound information. Spellar AI helps me turn those meeting notes into action. It analyzes my meetings and produces clear and effective insights from them, highlighting key topics and follow-up items.

What’s even better is that I can connect with Notion (or another productivity tool of your choice) and my Google Calendar and export those action points to where I need them to be. I use Notion and Google Calendar for everything, so being able to instantly transfer my meeting information there and slot in new appointments and future meetings is incredibly useful. If you’re a scheduling nut like me, you might want to check out this article on the best scheduling apps for meeting and organizing to start using in 2026. MurmurType and Spellar AI both run through Setapp, so you won’t need to juggle multiple subscriptions. All you need to do is start with a 7-day free trial.

Meetings don’t have to be a drag Throughout my journey, I realized one thing: Employ the right tools, and you can stop feeling dread every time you see a meeting in your calendar. The reason meetings have such a poor reputation is that many people don’t bother using a meeting assistant with AI to make those hours worthwhile. If you feel as though other parts of your workday could use an upgrade, too, the Productivity Tools Searcher can help you identify a few tools that could give you more of your time and effort back.
